A desk-top study has been conducted in Delayed Coker to identify potential streams for recovering energy. LCGO pump-around (PA) in Coker is one such potential stream. The LCGO Pump-around stream is drawn from main fractionator column at 200°C & cooled in various exchangers before returning to column at 132°C. LCGO Pump-around stream is finally cooled in an air cooler EA07 from 168 to 120°C. Thus, approximately 17.5 MMKCal/hr of heat is being rejected to atmosphere.
