Superintendent Utilities, Offsites & Energy - BAPCO

Ali Jaffar is the Superintendent of Utilities, Offsites, and Energy in the Technical Services Department at Bapco Refining. He has been working with Bapco Refining for about 20 years, providing process engineering services on various process units such as naphtha and diesel hydrotreating, Platforming, fluid catalytic cracking, hydrocracking, and lube base oil.

As part of his role at the Technical Services, Ali has been leading process engineering teams for providing technical expertise, process engineering services, and process technology know-how, to develop processing strategies, closely monitor, and optimize units’ performance using various monitoring and optimizing tools, and solve operational problems.  In addition, one of his main roles is to train and develop young professionals through continual mentoring, coaching, and individual development programs.

He holds a BSc degree in chemical engineering from the University of Bahrain and a master’s in business and Administration in International Management from Geneva Business School. He also completed several internationally accredited certifications including a Level 3 Certificate in Principles of Leadership and Management from the city and guilds of the London Institute, and Nebosh PSM, UK. He is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) and the Engineering Council, UK.
