
TOM DI GIACOMO
CEO - CABINDA OIL REFINERY
Tom Di Giacomo, currently CEO of the Cabinda Oil Company in Angola, has had a successful Downstream career that spans the last four decades. Tom began his professional career as a process engineer in the USA with Mobil Oil and Sun Oil during the 1980s, and as an assistant operations manager with Texaco during the 1990s. He then joined Saudi Aramco as Operations and Engineering Superintendent of its Ras Tanura Refinery (2000-2004) before providing refining and HSE consultancy and support to all of Aramco’s 12 in-Kingdom refineries and NGL facilities (2004-18). Following his tenure with Aramco, the Board for Egyptian Refining Company (ERC) hired him as its Refinery Manager to commission and start up Egypt’s largest full-conversion refinery in Cairo, doing so without a single loss time incident (LTI) from 2019 through 2021. While with Aramco, Tom served on the Technical Committees on each of the biannual PetroTech conferences and was instrumental in the development of the Gulf Downstream Association (GDA) in 2016. In his free time, Tom enjoys all sports, traveling, and teaching karate on an international level.
